Licensed Professional Counselor

To some degree, many of us have conflict due, in part, to how we understand and respond to the experiences that have formed us. It is my belief that we can create new ways of thinking, change our response to that thinking and thereby change our future outcomes. My relationship with my client will focus on exploring thought processes that have arisen from those challenges. As a counselor, I believe in the client and his/her ability to explore past struggles, focus on strengths and goals and discover a way to process new meaning in their lives.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Texas #67954 and a graduate of Southern Methodist University, earning a BS in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling.  I also studied theology at Redeemer Seminary (now Reformed Theological Seminary) in Dallas.  A Gottman Seven Principles Program Educator, I have also trained in Levels 1 and 2 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy which means I enjoy working with married couples.  Additionally, as a Prepare and Enrich Facilitator, I believe pre-marital counseling is an area vitally important for successful marriages.

My previous career was as Assistant Chaplain at Southern Methodist University, where I primarily counseled young adults. It has likewise been a privilege to counsel and teach women journeying toward a more satisfying and meaningful life through The Purpose Project and The Genesis Center in Kaufman.
